99: A Geometric Stress-Relief Coloring Book
99 issues with stress in your life,
99 issues with stress,
take one down,
spread some color around,
98 issues with stress in your life!
I know. That’s certainly an opening. I guess it was either that or a ’99 problems’ riff… And this is where my mind honestly went first.
The stress relief coloring book that explains itself
Because this is definitely my most bare-bones, creatively minimalist title yet.
I could maybe even say ever. I don’t think I’m gonna be topping it anytime soon.
It’s 99.
Just 99.
Because you get 99 coloring pages.
99 stress-busting coloring patterns.
99 ways to make your creativity reach new heights.
99 gorgeous geometric designs that you can dive into and rediscover your ability to unplug, to let go of your day, and to be massively creative, all at one time.
Symmetrical edge to edge coloring patterns
I’m sure some would say this is the wrong tack to take. To look at what “the market” is doing and go likeā¦
Nah. Let’s not do that.
But then it’s probably my biggest character flaw to deliberately, actively look for ways that I can march to the beat of my own drum.
Oh, that’s what’s popular?
That’s what people are actively buying and thus creating more of and thus buying more of?
OK, great. Awesome.
Let me go ahead and do none of that myself, because I don’t want to be more-of-the-same-y.
So instead I’m doing what I like. Which is big, bold, geometric coloring patterns.
Soothing coloring patterns.
They mellow me out while I’m working on them. They zen me out just by looking at them.
And coloring them puts me in a phenomenal mood where I’m incredibly relaxed and yet incredibly creative. Basically, in the zone.
Stress-relief coloring patterns with a central theme
I’m not telling you anything you haven’t already seen for yourself.
All the images on this page have a couple obvious design elements in common, and I know you didn’t miss that.
It goes without saying that every one of my coloring books has a central design theme. Beyond my cramming as many pages as I think suit its purpose in each one.
In the case of 99, I wanted to work with the contrast of very clean parallel lines and very expressive curves and whirls.
Straight, narrow spaces can be an absolute PITA to get right, but they also create such wonderful contrasting bands on the finished, colored page.
As for the whirls, I have to be honest. I find those a particular blast to color, and I hope you do as well!
Two formats. One awesome experience.
I’ve been taking a different tack with some of my coloring books and opting to make them available in both a paperback and a full letter size.
The way I figure it, the smaller size is perfect for smaller hands or a more portable experience.
The bigger size is great for coloring fans who need to immerse themselves in the process in order to make the most of their coloring time.
